Introducing mind-body resources such as yoga can benefit anyone at any age, however it can be very helpful when introduced during youth to encourage lasting, lifelong practices. The benefits of yoga are proven to help reduce stress and to improve self-regulation, plus encourage an active lifestyle, particularly when provided to children and young adults in an age-appropriate and caring format.
That's why I'm proud to partner with my local YMCA organization in Thomasville, Georgia, to implement and instruct a comprehensive Kids Yoga program at the Butler-Mason Center. Classes are taught according to appropriate age groups, which range from age 4 to age 14. Each class is taught within a trauma-sensitive environment, which is an added benefit to students no matter what life circumstances a student might be experiencing.
During each class, students will participate in breathing exercises, fun yoga poses, and exciting games to help highlight each student's mind-body awareness and body autonomy, along with a fun project to help reinforce class themes.
I am also available for workshops with nonprofits, schools, and other organizations who would like to offer yoga and other mindfulness practices to the children they work with. Please contact me here for availability.
